WATCH: VICTON Celebrates Five Years With Gift For Fans In “Sweet Travel” Music Video

VICTON has released a special fan song to commemorate their fifth debut anniversary on November 9th at 6 p.m. KST entitled “Sweet Travel.”

The pop dance song with a pleasingly trendy guitar riff and rich vocal melodies was written by six members of VICTON – Kang Seungsik, Heo Chan, Lim Sejun, Do Hanse, Choi Byungchan and Jung Subin – while Han Seungwoo is currently completing his military service. It was composed by Jacob Attwooll, Hight, and Rani Petersen.

It gives pleasant memories to all the fans who have spent their time with the group over the past five years and conveys the sincere message of hoping that because of VICTON, the lives of fans would always feel like they were on a sweet trip. The music video for “Sweet Travel” shows the members having fun and celebrating with a few references sprinkled in for long time fans to reminisce about.

2021 has been a huge year for the Play M Entertainment boy group, releasing their first full-length album VOICE: The Future Is Now at the top of the year. Additionally, Han Seungwoo made his solo comeback Fade back in June prior to his enlistment while Do Hanse unveiled his long-awaited solo debut BLAZE in September.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t all smooth sailing for VICTON during the past five years. Despite their talent and the unique music quality present from their 2016 debut Voice To New World which gained them a small but loyal following, the group almost disbanded at one point due to lack of profitable success.

2019 was a major turning point for the group, as members Seungwoo and Byungchan appeared on Mnet’s “Produce X 101.” The pair were a huge hit, garnering a lot of buzz and recognition from K-pop fans and the public, leading them to start taking notice of VICTON and appreciating their works in a way they never did before.

The group’s first post-Produce comeback “Nostalgic Night” followed a hiatus that lasted for a year and six months and earned them their very first music show win.

Seungwoo earned a spot in the “Produce X 101” winning group, X1, and was voted team leader by the members themselves during a live broadcast. Fans were genuinely ecstatic and excited for the long-overdue and well-deserved opportunities for both Seungwoo and VICTON.

However, the lengthy five-year contract and rules regarding X1 members’ existing groups left many VICTON fans (called “Alice”) feeling mixed emotions. The contract stated that members couldn’t promote with their existing groups for two and a half years, which would mean Seungwoo wouldn’t be able to promote with VICTON for at least five years, as by the time X1 reached two and a half years he would have to enlist due to his age.

Despite fans being onboard and readily supporting both groups, X1’s shock early disbandment meant that VICTON were able to reunite much earlier than expected.

The group made three successful comebacks with all seven members “Howling,” “Mayday,” and “What I Said” respectively before Seungwoo ultimately enlisted on July 28th of this year, making each and every moment shared even more special. Congratulations to VICTON for five years of incredible music and an remarkable journey! Here’s to many years more together!
