WATCH: BTOB’s Yook Sungjae Finds Confidence To “BE SOMEBODY” In Solo Comeback MV

Vocalist Yook Sungjae of boy group BTOB has returned with his first single album EXHIBITION : Look Closely on May 9th at 6 p.m. KST.

The title track “BE SOMEBODY” is an emo indie-pop song with a trap-style beat, addictive guitar riffs, and powerful vocal melodies. It has a hopeful message of finding your way through dark nights and reaching your path.

Sungjae participated in songwriting alongside lyricists Hwang Yoobin (XYXX), Ellie Suh (153/Joombas), and danke. While Scott Russell Stoddart and Andy Love — whose collective works read like a “who’s-who” of K-pop’s biggest acts — composed “BE SOMEBODY.”

EXHIBITION : Look Closely is the singer’s first release since joining iWill Media last year, following BTOB’s departure from CUBE Entertainment after 11 years.

The single album contains three diverse songs including hip-hop influenced “Without you” which Sungjae also participated in writing, and another Andy Love-penned track in emotional pop closer, “The Ghost.”
