Get The Look: Red Velvet’s Luxurious Style From “Peek-A-Boo”

We all love Red Velvet, and we certainly can’t stop listening to the girls’ newest title track “Peek-A-Boo.” Apart from their catchy music and awesome dance moves, however, the members of Red Velvet definitely upped their game when it came to fashion for this comeback.

From striped, funky pieces from the luxury brand Ashish— where even a sequined, cotton t-shirt can cost over $1,200 USD— to the $425 USD Dolce & Gabbana heart earrings worn in Irene‘s teaser images, the girls screamed high-end fashion with their top-of-the-line brands and luxe looks.

Although the vast majority of Kpop fans can’t afford these authentic pieces, you can definitely find the perfect dupe for Red Velvet’s fashion while still managing to add your own flair and fun.

Want to get the look? Check out our three favorite Red Velvet-inspired outfits below!

1) Sequins & Stripes

For both teaser images for the album Perfect Velvet, as well as the music video for “Peek-A-Boo,” Red Velvet wore colorful, unique dresses and shirts that stood out above all the rest. The gorgeous sequined frocks come from the high-end brand Ashish, designed by Indian-born and London-based designer Ashish Gupta. The items range in price: Joy is wearing a $1,999 USD slip dress, Wendy’s dress is $3,300 USD, and Yeri’s “Love Sees No Colour” top is $1,700 USD.

The striped, sequined dress that we chose for our own look is from the GAP and costs $148. Pair it with an over-the-knee pair of burgundy, velvet boots (as worn by Irene) and pair with cute, gold earrings that give a nod to the bow-and-arrow used in the MV. The girls wore chokers throughout their images and video, so add this adorable black, gold, and burgundy choker to add some flair to the outfit. It’s available for only $8 USD from withchic.com. In keeping with the dark theme of the “Peek-A-Boo” video, a black clutch with skull clasp is the perfect way to finish off this look.

2) Perfect Red Plaid

Apart from their colorful stripes, the main look that stuck out in Red Velvet’s latest comeback was their head-to-toe red dresses. From plain red dresses to Wendy‘s own plaid look, the girls stayed true to their name by brightening things up with lots of red! This look comes in handy for the coming holidays where red, velvet, and plaids are perfect for Christmas. This adorable A-line dress is only $33 USD from withchic.com. Keep true to the overall theme of the group’s look by pairing the dress with matte, red tights and black shoes with an ankle strap. Give a nod to the red crowns they wore in their teasers by using these whimsical crown earrings from Novica and a small, black purse with crown design.

3) Gold Beauty

Another look that stood out for Red Velvet’s comeback were their gold and blue outfits in sequined and velvet fabrics. This is another outfit that would be perfect for the holidays by keeping it modern while staying warm as well. Instead of a full copy of their outfits, just take inspiration from their looks by wearing these soft, velvet trousers and a shimmery, gold top that gives the outfit a festive look. In a nod to the black accents of the girls’ original outfits, pair the outfit with a warm, velvet blazer with edgy, gold accents. Paired with matching shoes and a Dolce & Gabbana-inspired purse (get it for only $37 from johnlewis.com) that pulls together all the colors of the outfit, this look only needs these adorable earrings to finish it off! After all, don’t they make you think of Red Velvet’s key dance moves from “Peek-A-Boo”?
