Lee Hyori has released her long-awaited track, “Seoul.”
After taking a hiatus for several years, the singer is finally back on the scene with her pre-release track and MV. The emotional MV shows Hyori wandering throughout the city of Seoul, as well as through beautiful outdoor settings.
The song itself is slow and steady, a soft vibe to the song that manages to capture Hyori’s message in the lyrics. Towards the end of the track, we see Hyori dancing mindlessly as Killagramz features in a rap. The artist stated that the song was inspired by Korean comfort women— young women and girls who were forced into sexual slavery during the Japanese occupation of Korea.
“Seoul” is one of the upcoming tracks off Hyori’s comeback album which will be released on July 4th KST.
